Brisbane Show Camp

The Brisbane Show Camp is a partnership program of Education Queensland and the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Qld. - The Brisbane Ekka.

Students from Year 6 Queensland State Schools can be nominated by their school for selection to attend the Camp. For students to be considered for Show Camp they must complete our Online News Writers Course on the Learning Place.

A maximum of 20 students are selected each year to live-in at the Ekka and become involved in media activities - Newswriting, photography and other media activities to capture the activities and the experience of the show.

The Camp program provides an opportunity for students to:

  • develop skills in the areas of digital media and news writing.
  • be involved in group and individual work in planning, researching, writing and editing news stories.
  • enjoy the activities of the Brisbane Ekka.
  • meet new friends.
