Prep - Geography - Me on the map




​​​​​Prep - Science - Schoolyard explorers

A two-hour incursion designed to immerse students in the sensory investigations of living things, through exploring the natural and built environments in school.



​​Year 1 - Geography - My place, your place, our place​

A two-hour incursion, which delves deeper into the significance of natural, built and managed environments to foster a sense of place and stewardship.


​​Year 2 - Geography - It's a small world

A two-hour incursion that builds on previous learning and investigates student's links with places locally and throughout the world.



​Year 2 - Science - Water warriors​​

​A two-hour excursion designed to provide students with an understanding of how our behaviours can affect the health of our creeks and rivers.



Year 3 - History - The times they are a changing​​​

In this stimulating full day incursion, students explore images, video and the surrounding area to find evidence of change that has occurred to a specific aspect of their local environment.



Year 4 - Geography - What a load of rubbish!​

In this full-day program, grade four students are encouraged to lead a sustainability change within the school community.



Year 4 - Science - Save our soils​​

Save Our Soils is an exciting half-day incursion designed to give students an understanding of the way in which scientific processes can help us to understand the impacts of our actions on our immediate environment.



Year5 - Geography - City streets, City Beach​​

In this full day excursion, students will visit South Bank to investigate the effect of flood events on the natural and built environment.


Year 5 - History - Convict clues​​

Convict Clues is an engaging full day excursion that provides many opportunities for students to explore primary historical sources to build a picture of Brisbane, its inhabitants and their experiences of daily life during its time as a convict colony.


​Year 5 - Science - Missing Creatures Unit​​

A full day excursion which provides opportunities for students to investigate the structural features and adaptations of a specific group of living things – dinosaurs.

Year 6 - History - Who do you think we are?​​

An exciting full day excursion which begins at the BUEEC classroom or QPAC before moving into the West End to explore the influence of various migrant groups in the community.


​Year 6 - Science - Power up, power down​​

​Power up, Power down is a full day excursion which examines energy forms and transformations along with aspects of energy efficiency.

​Secondary programs



Year 7 - Investigating Urban Environments

A half day program where students investigate a chosen community and focus on the concept of place through an investigation​ of the community’s liveability.



Year 7 - Liveability in the River City​​​

This excursion combines the Year 7 units of 'Water in the world' and 'Place and liveability' in Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum.



Year 8 - Coastal landforms and landscapes​​

A whole day program investigating the formation of chosen landforms and the varying uses of that landscape.



​​Year 9 - Follow the crowd​

In this full day excursion students will investigate two sites within Brisbane’s CBD, King George Square and the Queen Street Mall.



Year 10 - Sustaining coastal communities​

A whole day program investigating the potential impacts that climate change may have on the Sandgate Foreshore.
